Dott. Pellegrino Marco
Orthopedic Surgeon · Traumatologist
Dr Alessandro Cirimbilli is a physician and surgeon specialising in Orthopaedics and Traumatology. He carries out clinical, diagnostic, injection-based and instrumental activity in private practice at the MediSport Center locations in Perugia (San Sisto) and Città della Pieve (Po’ Bandino).
His work covers the prevention, diagnosis and conservative, regenerative or injection-based treatment of disorders of the musculoskeletal system and the major joints: knee, hip, shoulder and spine.
He works closely with the physiotherapists of the centre’s rehabilitation area (FKT) and therapeutic gym, in a multidisciplinary approach addressed both to patients with degenerative conditions and to athletes followed in the Sport Science area, aimed at a personalised functional recovery.
Assessment of acute, chronic or degenerative musculoskeletal conditions: primary and secondary osteoarthritis, meniscal and ligament injuries of the knee, shoulder impingement and tendinopathies, and functional overload syndromes in athletes.
Biological treatment based on the growth factors in the patient’s own platelets: a venous blood sample is centrifuged and the resulting plasma is injected to modulate chronic inflammation and support the repair of cartilage, tendons and muscles.
Minimally invasive technique performed under real-time ultrasound guidance: a galvanic current delivered through an ultra-fine needle acts on the degenerated tendon tissue, removing altered fibrotic tissue and stimulating the production of new collagen fibres.
Acoustic energy focused deep on the lesion without harming superficial tissues, used to reduce inflammation, promote the formation of new blood vessels, break down tendon calcifications (for example in the shoulder) and treat plantar fasciitis with heel spur.
Intra-articular injections of hyaluronic acid of different molecular weights to counter cartilage wear in knee osteoarthritis and hip osteoarthritis, improving joint lubrication and reducing pain.
Local therapeutic use of corticosteroids in the acute phases of inflammatory joint and periarticular conditions (bursitis, acute tendinitis, adhesive capsulitis).
Assessment and clinical management of muscle, tendon and joint injuries related to physical activity, with conservative recovery programmes coordinated with the in-house physiotherapists for the return to sport.
